Digimon World was never just a game for me. It was the thing that tied me to my childhood friends. We'd trade tips on evolution, argue about whose Agumon was stronger, and pass the controller around while we worked out why our partners kept dying or turning into Numemon. Those afternoons are some of my warmest memories, and starcrisp still makes me smile.
Life pulled us in different directions, and I've lost touch with many of those friends. But this game still brings all of it back. Raising a partner from scratch, learning its needs, and exploring File Island made a small game feel enormous.
Today the game is stuck on aging PlayStation hardware and discs that get harder to find every year. It's where the Digimon games we love today began, and it deserves to be preserved, not forgotten. I'd love to play it again on a modern PC, maybe even share it with the friends I lost touch with, or with a new generation who never got the chance.
Please bring Digimon World to GOG so it can last.
