The first RPG I ever played was Final Fantasy III on the SNES. I still remember how it completely blew my mind—the sprawling world, the rich characters, the surprisingly emotional story. Up to that point, I didn’t know video games could be like that. And just when I thought I had experienced the pinnacle of what a game could offer, Chrono Trigger entered the picture. Also from Squaresoft, Chrono Trigger didn’t just raise the bar—it launched it into another dimension, quite literally. The use of time travel wasn’t just a gimmick; it was woven into the fabric of the story in a way that made every decision feel weighty and every character’s path deeply connected. The story was intricate, the worlds vivid, and the music? Timeless. Playing Chrono Trigger as a teenager felt like unlocking a door to something much bigger than just a game. It set the standard for storytelling in games for me, and honestly, few titles since have even come close to capturing that same magic. It was a masterpiece then, and it still is now.

I've played that Game so often on the SNES in my younger Times but sadly my 32 years old SNES is not working well anymore and even my old Module is abit malfunctional. And to buy a new Version of CT on the SNES ( or even buy a new SNES ), the Version on the Nintendo DS or the Playstation 1 is insanly expensive. To be honest i've already got CT on Steam but i want it on GOG because i dont want to be always online to play my Games or to start it and i also dont want to have an stupid Launcher running always in the Background. So please GOG make it possible.
Um dos melhores RPG de todos os tempos até hoje!!! Personagens, trilha sonora e sua história além de seu tempo. This is a legend, this is Chrono Trigger! FROG IS THE BEST!

This timeless classic should be preserved for everyone to enjoy for the rest of time. It is a true gem of a JRPG, made by the dream team of that era. I'd hope for you to take apart the PSOne port, and make that work with better load times. This way it has that one more ending that alludes to Chrono Cross, but also the cinematics that weren't in the original SNES release. While those are not mandatory, they are still cool and I wish to see those preserved as well.
I have never played this game and I have always wanted to. Currently the Steam version I have heard is a less than desire mobile game port whereas the 3DS is apparently the perfect version of the game. This game is absolutley a standout that needs to be in the GOG catalouge and is a day one purchase for me.

This is my favorite game of all time. It solidifies this spot not just for the moment in time when I encountered it but for the quality of the game. I recall, at that time in my life, no book or media could hold a candle to how it made me feel reading "The Phantom Tollbooth". Specifically, the end of the tale. That melancholy of knowing you have to let the beautiful thing go and still have those moments with you. When I beat Chrono Trigger for the first time, I was hit with that same wash of emotions. The festival with the elements of all you were in the world, none of them knowing the complete story. Those individuals through time, looking up at the sky, recalling their adventure as a thing of their own pasts only to catch a glimpse of the Epoch. That music swelling and reminding you that even though you had several lives worth of journeys, you still feel as magical and engaged as the first time when that music swells. Chrono Trigger on the SNES was second to none. To have version of this locked in time so you can share it with everyone... well that IS the spirit of Chrono Trigger. Secured forever in your memories and eager to get out and share with others.

The very best of the best when it comes to JRPGs. Yeah FFVII was a really close second, but this game is just pefect from start to finish. Interesting characters, storylines, incredible music. Maybe to people who only play new games and can't handle the SNES era of visuals, it could be a challenge to get into. But if you were there, this was the very best of the best and continues to be to this day.
i still plsy this at least once per year on my ds. love it. love it so much. ribitt. also who the hell wrote the music! amazing .# a game far ahead of its time.. see what i did there.
Ah yes, the OG. The GOAT. One of the most perfect JRPGs of all time. Bringing together the talents of Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yuji Horii, Nobuo Uematsu, and the legendary Akira Toriyama. The three designers, Sakaguchi, Horii, and Toriyama, were dubbed "The Dream Team" by Square, and for good reason. They took everything they learned creating Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest and distilled it into a masterpiece. Everything about this game is good. The music, the game play, the story, the characters. God, especially the music. The music and the artwork are what attracted me to the game in the first place. To younger me, it was like a bizzaro Dragon Ball Z video game that was addictive as hell. The music of this game brings about feeling of extreme frission and joy. I first played it back in the early 2000s on a SNES emulator, as I never had the actual game as a kid. Please, do yourself a favor and play it.
Those games also need your vote!
Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Fable: The Lost ChaptersFable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.
