I loves the SNES as a youngster, and while it boasts a still-legendary library, I'm here to specifically sing the praises (for perhaps the millionth time in my life, admittedly) of one of the first JRPGs I ever played, that also happens to be my favorite game of all time.
Even setting aside my boundless, eternal love for this Chrono Trigger, it's also near-universally regarded as an all-time great. It refined the still-fledgling genre to its essence with impressive polish, wrapped it in gorgeous visuals and audio/music (that frankly still hold up), all while introducing a vibrant cast of memorable characters, exciting storytelling, and revolutionary gameplay mechanics: not only did CT introduce the concept of New Game Plus (afaik), but many would also argue it's STILL the best implementation of NG+ EVER.
I could go on for a while and still not do this actual masterpiece proper justice. But I will say this: I am confident in insisting that this classic remain available for future appreciation...
Til the end of time.
