Description

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.

You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

Exercise in frustration

This game feels like it's in beta. It is janky, buggy, and rough around the edges in all the ways that make me not want to play it. Beware that the first couple of hours are the prologue and will not represent the game as a whole. The combat is the worst parts of The Witcher and Kingdom Come: Deliverance smashed together with a heaping serving of buggy and broken lock‑on systems. Traversing the world feels like trying to climb a mountain in Skyrim the wrong way. You cannot just pick a path and walk on it. Also, I hope you like fighting wolves. The story is intriguing, but it's all ruined by the time mechanic, where everything you do costs you an amount of time and you only have a set amount of time to complete the game. This means you don’t know what you have time to accomplish until after you’ve already beaten or failed the main quest. Absolute trash game design. There’s a reason nobody has done it since Fallout 1. I want to like this game. It’s clear that there’s a lot of heart and passion put into it, but as it is, at the time of writing this review, I’m finding fewer reasons to pick up that controller. Speaking of controllers: using one is almost impossible because the game will randomly, for no reason, switch back to keyboard and mouse controls for a split second, causing any inputs from your controller to not register. I’m hoping that’s just a quirk of my computer, but it doesn’t happen with any other game I play. (update: Ive seen reports from other players that have the same issue.) Here’s hoping for a fruitful set of patches to make this game playable. (Edits: Punctuation, Update about controllers)

Decent game, poor story

I wrote a well put together 1800 character review. They won't allow it, I critiqued the decision portion of the game in respects to Father Florin, Anca, Lacra and a few other minor npcs like Vlad. Long story short, even though they, at the last minute, added in dialogue options to support an npcs viewpoint, the epilogue tells you that you were wrong. Especially characters like Florin, Anca and Lacra. Hope this one saves, since clearly worded critique of writing and the decisions are not allowed. This is very much like KCD2, especially in the message department. You will be told this in the epilogue if you chose which NPCs to support and which not to and it did not match their message. Choices do not matter and the ending only has one or two minor changes if you engage Brencis with Crake vs Lacra or alone as the "Folk Hero"

Hard to recommend, but also hard not to.

I will preface this by saying I've only just made it to Anca, one of the first NPCs that you can interact with, but had a difficult time getting to her. While what little I've experienced of the combat and story seems excellent, the game is not without it's share of issues, and performance being a big one. With an RTX 3070, I can't even get a stable 60 fps on Low settings at 1440p and even 1080p still feels like it's hitching. Keep in mind this is all in the first (and presumably smallest) town. Nothing compared to the scale of what's been shown in gameplay and trailers. If I'm already experiencing this level of performance in a small village, I can only imagine how it will be after the prologue. **Additionally, controller support is all over the place. First off, the Dualsense Edge is not supported at all and is not playable with it. My only other controller is a Steam Controller 2. The game randomly switches to M+K input, making both combat and menus feel unresponsive at times. Every single time I open a menu, I have to fight the input change as it tries to register a mouse cursor in a different location than where I've been navigating. I'm not sure if this is a result of having to run the application through Steam to be able to use my Steam Controller, but some reviews on Steam also seem to mention similar controller input issues. As much as I want to tell people to buy this game, these two rather signifcant issues make it hard to recommend at this price point at this point in time. Review written on game version 1.01 **Hotfix 1.03 has included Dualsense support, but the input switching seems to continue after alt-tabbing.

No fun

This game is not fun. The time constraints are a terrible idea. I want to immerse in a world, I want to solve all quests, visit and explore locations. I want to BE there. But this is not possible in this game. I also do not like the combat, with the directional attacks and blocking. Maybe I am too old for this? This is *my* *opinion*, YMMV

FORCED CONTROLS IN 2026!? SERIOUSLY!?

**Forced Controls in 2026?! Seriously?!** I really wanted to like this game. It looks great and runs well on my system, but the control and accessibility options are extremely disappointing. I am a quadriplegic PC gamer, so being able to customize controls is not simply a preference for me—it determines whether I can actually play a game. While the game allows individual keys to be rebound, the combat system still forces certain directional inputs and simultaneous button presses. That defeats much of the purpose of offering customizable controls in the first place. For example, I normally use the left mouse button for sprinting because of my physical limitations. The game's combat system effectively forces me to use the left mouse button for attacking if I want directional attacks to be manageable. I shouldn't have to sacrifice a control scheme that works for me just because the game was designed around one particular way of playing. Even more surprising is the lack of basic toggle options. In 2026, accessibility features such as toggle sprint, toggle crouch, and alternatives to holding multiple inputs should be standard in a major PC RPG. The frustrating part is that this could probably be fixed without changing the game itself. Give players more control over how actions are activated and allow directional combat inputs to be independently rebound. Games should give players choices, especially when it comes to controls and accessibility. Please improve this, Rebel Wolves. I would genuinely like to be able to enjoy your game.
