Turned it off, game time and achievement stat spams are just annoying.
The only interesting stuff there was some screenshots, but screenshot taking and fast uploading feature doesn't exist and it is just uncomfortable to do it manually.

Whole profile thing just lacks of features.
It is basically useless to me as a Linux user. No Galaxy, no point.

echosa: I only have a couple of people on my GOG friends list, and they rarely ever actually play their GOG games (through Galaxy or otherwise). Recently, however, one of my GOG friends has been playing more GOG games through Galaxy. That's when I noticed, for the first time, the purple dot next to my username when I log in.

Curious, I clicked and noticed that there's an Activity Feed and that it had updates telling me the games my friend had played. Pretty cool! Poking around a bit more, I can "like" the feed items, see my own game play history, and even post messages to it a la Twitter. I'm normally not a fan of this sort of socialization, but for some reason, I did it on GOG. Perhaps that's because I like GOG so much and want to see it succeed, and I love seeing other people using Galaxy and playing GOG games.

I also noticed that if I click on a feed item of a friend playing a game, it shows me a comparison of my play time/achievements for that game vs my friends. Ok, that is *really* cool.

So, having discovered the Activity Feed and poked around it a bit, I've decided I like it! My only complaint, really, is that I don't have enough GOG-active friends to make it more useful. ;-) I'm tempted to open my profile to the public now, to generate more use out of my feed (read: let more people see and interact with me), but I'm not quite ready to that. I like the idea of the text posts, but for that, I use Player.me, and there's no cross-posting between the two (like there is between Player.me and Twitter). Then again, Player.me is more general, whereas I think I'd keep my GOG Activity Feed posts GOG-specific.

So that's my thoughts on the Activity Feed. What do y'all think? Do you use it? Do you like it? I'm curious, so let's discuss!
i check it if there is a dot
I sometimes use it. I almost always use it for my giveaways these days. And it's fun to see what others are playing.
Nobody on the forums does because we're all old and depressed and crotchety and cynical and Nic Cage here and hate GOG despite still shopping here. /s
Holy hell, I figured there'd be those that didn't like it, but I was not prepared for just how much so many people seem to absolutely loathe the feature.

In hindsight, having browsed these forums for a while now, I shouldn't have been surprised. :-D

I expected a lot of "no I don't use it" or "I forget it's even there", but the sheer hatred for the feature by some is almost admirable. That said, I still think it's a neat feature, and, thus far, I'm not annoying by the purple dot.

CARRiON-XCII: Yes and no.
How so? I'm curious about your answer.

Same! I like seeing what others are playing for this reason.

I really liked the activity feed, if I could respond to posts I'd start using it again.

I still do my treasure hunts publicly, but if I have a duplicate or a game I'm not going to play that's part of a bundle, I'll ask on my activity feed before posting on the forums. I can at least send the game to someone who will likely play it, and but to a reselling robot or avid code collector.

I also often want to respond but can't.

How can I or anyone else get in on this? Do we just need to be friends on GOG so that we get notified of your posts? :-)

Agreed! You can "like" a post, but you can't respond. It would be nice if you could.

Yeah, all of a sudden.

It's not like I'm giving a game away every month or anything.
