Hi,

It must have been said many times before, I apologize for I usually don't read the forum.

But, I have to raise my voice as I love browsing Gog's store page, I like having my games through Gog Galaxy, especially the retro ones, but I feel there's a new game available like twice a year.

When I say new game, I also, and maybe especially refer to retro games.

It is so frustrating !
What is retro to you, style or age?

Either way, there have been 18 games released on GOG this year that are at least 20 years old. Is that not enough? Should GOG be able to procure the rights to and perform QA testing on more than that?

Yah, Rome Total War!

I'd say up until early 2000's.
I don't know, it's a feeling that I always browse the same ones over and over in the store.

There are multiple other games that need licencing, like other Star Treks games. Many Diablo clone from this era would be very welcome here as well.

In my opinion, those badly emulated Neo Geo games don't have anything to do in the store.

There are almost no racing games too !

I wish we could still summon a Jmich!
I understand how you feel, OP. I feel similarly.

Would be great if GOG could get more games on the store in a given year. When you look at Dreamlist, you can see there is a lot of demand for all sorts of games. The GOG staff are aware of the demand.

But the publishers and rights holders are the ones who decide if their games can be sold on GOG.

I don't know how GOG approaches publishers and rights holders about the games. Maybe they're persistent, maybe they're not. I really want them to persistent, though. The issue of game ownership is crucial because it's a meaningful microcosm of consumer rights in general.
GOG is having their first ever GOG showcase 5th of November (today for you, tomorrow for me in the states).

Hopefully we'll see more on the way in the showcase.

Personally, I think the growing consumer interest in game ownership over the past few years has also helped raise GOG's profile and make more people aware of the platform.

I believe that seeing major game publishers, whose titles have traditionally been released with DRM on Steam, start cooperating with GOG and bringing their games to the platform is a truly encouraging milestone.

I really hope GOG continues to grow its presence and reach a wider audience. The more people become aware of GOG and its DRM-free approach, the more likely other publishers may be to consider bringing their new releases to the platform as well.
