Thief: The Dark Project Remastered brings back the pioneering 3D stealth game from Looking Glass Studios – and it's now available for pre-order on GOG!

Described by its developers as a “first-person sneaker,” the 1998 title challenged norms with its non-confrontational gameplay at a time when most first-person games prioritized combat.

Pre-order it now!
Taffing into the forum.

Beware! Nightdive Studios applied KEX engine updates that broke Win 7 compatibility. Despite these game still wrongly claiming Win 7 compatibility (like Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for example).

24 euros ?

Are you out of your mind ???

Also everyone should buy the original game before it will vanish from the Gog catalog .

$20-$30 for every +20-30 year old former $3-$5 game has been inevitable ever since the remasteritus gravy-train floodgates opened.

Definitely backup the originals now (see how System Shock 2 was "preserved" by... being erased from the store...)

Anyone who has been around already owned the game years ago. I imagine this is for those who don't want to bother with hi-definition mods.

That was because of the publisher more then anything else. At least with the remaster you can play OG unmodded version, or disable mods from the remaster.

Very appropriate name considering the price.
In case you missed it:
'The Tarnished Mirror' Reveal
The System shock 2 remaster was pretty good and faithful so I'll probably be grabbing this...well, unless something goes terribly wrong

"From the creators of The Black Parade" - now wouldn't that be a perfect opportunity to also add TBP to the One-click Mods catalogue then?

Absolutely, I had no idea they were working on it, it makes SO much sense why they kept it under wraps then :)

Looking forward to play it!

Easiest purchase ever. Done.

The latest Nightdive updates broke Win 7 compatibilty, so, beware if you are affected!

As time passes certain OS are just going to be dropped all together. As for a remasters go I would think.
I have high expectations for this remaster. Don't fail me, Nightdive.

The £24.99 price tag is really no surprise. Buy the original now and back up your installers if you haven't done so already.

Man, I should consider myself lucky that I first got into these games as a teenager - I could have logged onto GOG and got Thief 1 & 2, System Shock 2 AND System Shock Enhanced for the price of just ONE of these KEX Engine remakes. In fact, that's exactly what I did 10 or so years ago!

I'll just parrot what I said about the SS2 remake: slapping on a £24.99 price of entry fee for those who want the original game (when the original game was routinely on sale for the price of a McDonald’s cheeseburger) just doesn't sit right with me - removing the consumers access to the original game is not 'preservation', it's forcing their hand whilst intentionally diminishing the game that Looking Glass made back in 1998.

This also means that there won't be any more support for the original versions of these games going forward - and wave goodbye to the store page that has almost 600 written reviews from people reminiscing about their favourite game...but sure, 'preservation', right?
