Breja: I'm gonna join in! The controllers instead of the goold mouse + keyboard on the anniversary banner annoy me. It's a PC game store after all! I know this is a complete non issue, but I just find the "gaming = consoles" perception annoying in general, so my PC store of choice perpetuating that is doubly irksome.
Mouse? What?? A true gamer only uses keyboard!! Thats gaming, using mouse = cheating!
Also the banner has a dragon, and we all know that dragons only exist in Slovenia not Poland!
Get your facts straight GOG!
Congrats GOG :) Thx for bringing us more and more DRM-free games. Keep up the good work. Good luck and let us go at least for another 18 years :D Cheers
Happy 18th GOG!

Happy anniversary!

As said by several members already, it had been a long ride. There were some years were I wasn't sure if GOG might survive, yet here we are still ticking along.

May GOG have another 18 years and more!

Happy Birthday!

Let's have a few more!

Here's hoping Dragon Age II and the original Mass Effect games might soon join us!
Huge congratulations on your 18th anniversary!
I'm so happy to see you reach this milestone, and here's to many more decades of success!
I'm truly grateful for all your hard work and dedication to preserving games and keeping them alive for future generations.
Thank you for everything you do!
Congrats! Here's hoping you push past all the forum doomers and make another 18 years!

00063: Things look grim for 2027... "Two new things are coming" and there's this ominous GoGGalaxy logo.

So here's a reminder to VOTE AGAINST GoGGalaxy:

Before it's too late!
I wouldn't say grim, but that is somewhat concerning, yes.
The other logo looks like Twitch?

MasterofFiction: Yeah, the timeline is interesting, but it is a little strange that apparently nothing happened around here between 2013 and 2017.
Yeah, somewhat unsurprisingly, the "Good News" moment and giving up on their second clear, explicit initial core principle is conveniently missing.
More surprisingly, the initial launch of Galaxy is also missing.

AnimalMother117: I miss the old green and yellow color scheme.
Same. And the overall look.

eiii: hopefully the "Back to the Roots" also mentioned in the timeline actually will get true in some distant future. ;) At lest we still can dream ...
Indeed...

ReynardFox: No Nier? Really?
avatar
acute71: Totally (although I'll let it slide for now if they release FF X/X-Ii and FF XII during this sale)
Those games are already DRM free on Steam, i just do not want to be too loud about it... albeit as long as not on GOG this comment can not "hurt sales".

It is different on Nier... as those games are indeed still DRMed. Nonetheless, so far those games are just speculations. I did not hear a single word from GOG themself, which is rarely the case or lets say "as good as never". GOG is known for making surprising "instant pop ups" without any info beforehand. This is not a advantage but it can be seen as a "interesting surprise-box" on GOG.

I'd say outside of Square Enquix Nier games ..Horizon Zero dawn remaster and Horizon forbidden West aswell as God of war Ragnarök would be big , As Sony has ignored GOG for awhile but they're two games known in GOG api data

Metal gear master collection would be massive too

HunchBluntley: Interesting that the timeline on the promo page completely skips 2015, the year when not only The Witcher III was released, but also GOG Galaxy -- not to mention GOG's first (AFAIK) foray into self-publishing revived oldies (including the first three batches of old, originally-SSI-published D&D games).
The lattermost of those I can maybe understand not focusing on, since SNEG has since taken over as publisher of those, and GOG seems to have decided not to mention initiatives that have since been completely scuppered (e.g., "Reclaim Your Games", selling movies & GOG Connect). I could even kind of see why they'd focus on the release of Assassins of Kings over that of Wild Hunt, since the former was arguably of a "first" for GOG -- and, of course, they're no longer directly related to CDP, so another mention of the same series might feel less imperative. But not mentioning the piece of software which, to this day, they are keen on trying to slap every visitor to GOG in the face with? Odd.
Beyond what you already mentioned, I'm surprised they didn't mention that GOG.com was the initial home of the System Shock 2 re-release (GOG even completely re-did the front page to look like SHODAN and everything!), when they also highlighted Blade Runner's & Skyrim's arrival to the store.

Ultimately, it's a PR piece to highlight previous successes & hype people for the future, but it would've been nice to see them cover big milestones like those, and the interesting side-quests like GOG Connect & their short-lived DRM-free movies initiative.

Happy Birthday GOG!

Been here since the start, my brother got an account when GOG was in beta and as soon as accounts were opened up to the public I made one.

Gaming wouldn't be the same without you GOG, keep up the good work!
