HunchBluntley: Interesting that the timeline on the promo page completely skips 2015, the year when not only
The Witcher III was released, but also GOG Galaxy -- not to mention GOG's first (AFAIK) foray into self-publishing revived oldies (including the first three batches of old, originally-SSI-published D&D games).
The lattermost of those I can maybe understand not focusing on, since SNEG has since taken over as publisher of those, and GOG seems to have decided not to mention initiatives that have since been completely scuppered (e.g., "Reclaim Your Games", selling movies & GOG Connect). I could even kind of see why they'd focus on the release of
Assassins of Kings over that of
Wild Hunt, since the former was arguably of a "first" for GOG -- and, of course, they're no longer directly related to CDP, so another mention of the same series might feel less imperative. But not mentioning the piece of software which, to this day, they are keen on trying to slap every visitor to GOG in the face with? Odd.
Beyond what you already mentioned, I'm surprised they didn't mention that GOG.com was the initial home of the System Shock 2 re-release (GOG even completely re-did the front page to look like SHODAN and everything!), when they also highlighted Blade Runner's & Skyrim's arrival to the store.
Ultimately, it's a PR piece to highlight previous successes & hype people for the future, but it would've been nice to see them cover big milestones like those, and the interesting side-quests like GOG Connect & their short-lived DRM-free movies initiative.
